Sebastien Bourdais & Cadillac set new IMSA lap report at Laguna Seca

Sebastien Bourdais set a brand new lap report on the Laguna Seca racetrack throughout qualifying of the 2024 Motul Course De Monterey. Bourdais grabbed pole place by setting a lap time of 1 min 12.44 seconds in his #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Sequence.R.

Bourdais’ quickest lap was 1.5 seconds faster than the all-time lap report of 1 min 13.924 seconds set by Ricky Taylor in a Daytona Prototype Worldwide (DPi)-class automotive in 2022. The French driver lapped the two.238 mile circuit at a median pace of 111.212 mph. 

After grabbing pole place Bourdais mentioned that his lap may’ve been even quicker had he not made a mistake. He mentioned {that a} small mistake on the well-known Corkscrew nearly ruined his lap.

Derani and Aitken within the Whelen Cadillac Racing within the V-Sequence.R secured second place, whereas BMW’s Krohn and Phillip Eng within the BMW M Hybrid V8 will line up in third place on the grid alongside Penske Motorsport’s Porsche 963.
