Scott Velocity’s wild Subaru WRX Mission Midnight coming to Goodwood
Subaru Motorsports USA has constructed a brand new Time Assault automobile that can participate within the Goodwood Hill Climb later this weekend. Dubbed, ‘WRX Mission Midnight, will probably be piloted by ex-F1 and rallycross champion Scott Velocity.
The Subaru WRX Mission Midnight is the successor to the Airslayer Gymkhana automobile, which was based mostly on the 2020 WRX STI. Whereas the latter was designed to go sideways, Mission Midnight is constructed for “pure tarmac pace”.
The WRX Mission Midnight has an ultra-wide physique with a large wing on the again. The carbon fibre physique and light-weight chassis make it 1,000 lbs lighter than the usual WRX. The suspension geometry is ready up for the tarmac and the automobile rides on 18-inch OZ Racing magnesium wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan slick tires.
Underneath the bonnet of the WRX Mission Midnight lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine tuned to provide 670 hp and 680 lb-ft and revs 9,500 rpm.
