IMI unveils new management with Graeme Potts appointed chair


Eden Automotive chief Graeme Potts is to take the helm as chair of the board on the Institute of the Motor Business (IMI)
Potts, who already serves as trustee and chair of the audit committee at automotive charity BEN, is charged with guiding the IMI’s long-term imaginative and prescient.
“I’m delighted and honoured to have been appointed as chair of the IMI,” stated Potts. “This can be a pivotal time for the sector, and I look ahead to main a newly constituted board that may assist form the subsequent part of the IMI’s growth.
“Our mission to advance professionalism and handle the talents agenda stays central – now remodelled to replicate a fast-changing business.”
Becoming a member of him on the board is Adrian Wallington, former industrial director at Marshall Motor Group and present chief industrial officer at Huws Grey. Wallington takes up a non-executive director.
“I’m delighted and proud to be becoming a member of the board of the IMI at this pivotal time in its historical past,” stated Wallington (pictured left). “The chance to provide again to the automotive sector has been an enormous motivation for me.”
Commenting on the appointments, IMI vice chairman and chair of the nomination committee Daksh Gupta stated: “The automotive sector is altering, and the IMI should change with it to remain related.
“To shut the talents hole and future-proof the workforce, we’d like management that’s dedicated, visionary, and deeply engaged with business challenges. With Graeme Potts and our incoming board, we’re constructing a platform for the subsequent 100 years.”
These appointments mark the start of a full board refresh. Over the approaching weeks, the IMI stated it’s going to announce 9 additional non-executive administrators which it describes as a “dream crew” of business and cross-sector specialists.
