Beyoncé Branded “Synthetic” In Backlash To New Denim Marketing campaign


Beyoncé is getting bashed by conservative pundit Megyn Kelly, who known as her “faux” and “enhanced” compared to Sydney Sweeney.
On Tuesday (August 5), Kelly publicly criticized Beyoncé’s look within the new Levi’s denims advert, calling the artist “synthetic” and “faux.”
“That is the alternative of the Sydney Sweeney advert,” she posted on X ( Twitter). “Fairly clearly there’s nothing pure about Beyoncé.”
Kelly continued, stating:
“Every little thing—from her picture, to her fame, to her success, to her look…is purchased and paid for. Screams synthetic, faux, enhanced, making an attempt too arduous.”
The controversy erupted after American Eagle launched a denims commercial that includes actress Sydney Sweeney, which performed on the pun between “denims” and “genes.”
Sweeney, a blonde and blue-eyed actress, stars within the marketing campaign with strains like:
“Genes are handed down from dad and mom to offspring, typically figuring out traits like hair colour, character, and even eye colour. My denims are blue.”
Critics argued that the advert, that includes a white actress referencing “nice genes,” alluded to problematic eugenics rhetoric and Western magnificence requirements. Some accused the marketing campaign of echoing supremacist or eugenicist canine whistles, significantly given US historic associations with these concepts.
Critics stated the entire “nice genes” factor, paired with Sweeney’s white, blonde, blue-eyed look, felt like a nod to white superiority. Some even known as it “Nazi propaganda.”
The controversy grew to become a political flashpoint, drawing feedback from figures comparable to Donald Trump, who defended Sweeney and praised the advert as “the HOTTEST advert on the market. Go get ’em Sydney!”
Nonetheless, American Eagle stood by the marketing campaign.”
